I agree with you there, too. Imagine how drastically the number of abortions would be if we put all this effort not into legal maneuvers, but paid advertising and education?

We wouldn't have to outlaw abortion to lower the numbers, as people would willingly do so. And isn't it better to convince people of the truth than to force the truth on them and tell them to like it and shut up already?

We've been doing it backwards, as Peggy Noonan, back when she had her head on straight, used to say--we should educate first, then the laws would change because as a nation BELIEVE abortion should end.

"The nation" believes that abortion should be limited right now. The federal courts disagree. No amount of advertising affects unelected Judges. No amount of winning their hearts and minds changes Roe and Doe. Only elections can have an effect. That is the state of American politics. The votes are there to put limits on abortion in almost every state in the country, they have been convinced.

The judges can not be convinced, they have to be replaced.

Ever since the episode aired I thought South Park had the easiest way to convince people that abortion was not a nice little procedure. After finding out that having a vaginoplasty doesn't make him a real women he remarks "You mean, I'll never know what it feels like to have a baby growing inside me and then scramble its brains and vacuum it out?"
