The New 'Final Outcome'
Pittsburgh Tribune Review ^ | Feb. 20 2006 | Ralph R Reiland

Posted on 02/20/2006 1:14:39 PM PST by TheClintons-STILLAnti-American

Bill Clinton called them "totally outrageous" and an "appalling example" of stereotyping. He was talking about the Danish cartoons that sparked the rioting and killings throughout the Islamic world. Similarly, Sen. John Kerry was appalled by the cartoon depictions of Mohammed -- one, for example, showing the prophet in a turban shaped as a bomb. "Inflammatory images deserve our scorn," he said.

French President Jacques Chirac, likewise, urged caution in regard to upsetting anyone's apple cart, especially if it's a faith-based cart: "Anything liable to rub the wrong way the beliefs of others, particularly the religious beliefs, must be avoided."

...At the Al-Omari mosque in Gaza, a cleric laid out the bottom line regarding the cartoons and retribution:

"We will not accept less than severing the heads of those responsible."

As usual, liberals and Islamists think alike. THEY should define what "tolerance" is and what is unacceptable.

Freedom of speech is negotiable with both ragheads and liberals.

Like the blue dress was "totally outrageous" and an "appalling example" of stereotyping. Seems like this wind bag would just shut up.

Yeah, and all that lip service they're paying to respecting religious faith goes right out the window when it is Christianity and specifically Jesus Christ who is being mocked, ridiculed, and profaned.

And their justification for not being incensed about the institutional Christ-bashing and Jesus-hating that is nearly pandemic?

Their argument (if it were obscene cartoons of Jesus being published) would be "Hey, Jesus was crucified, He can take any sort of ridicule or mockery, after all, He rose from the dead didn't He? Sticks and stones, dig it? Jesus would never want someone to lose their freedom of speech just because they wanted to curse at Him."

Believe me, it would be some sort of insidious reverse-logic like that, I have no doubt of it.

I am listening to Michael Medved it is amazing to hear the liberals willing to submit to the muslims demand for regulating free speech. The spirit of appeasement is alive and well. Dhimmitude here we come.

Honestly, blasphamous images of Christ, Mohammed, Buhdda or alike should be condemmed and the proponents shunned.....Clinton and Bush are in agrrement on this issue.

However the reaction of the Muslims was way over the top and disportional to the offense. Both Clinton and Bush condemed the violent reaction.

Which broaches the question, just exactly how DID mohammed die?

I know that Attaturk died of syphilis (or complications thereof).

What DID do in Mo? Just curious and too lazy to google it.

Freedom of speech remains an ideal -- in the face of threats and violence, it fades into the background, obscured in a fog of rationalizations espousing fairness and decency and balance and respect for all faiths, however vile and murderous they may be. MSM, shame on you!

It is hard to pin down any real facts on mohammed.

Dr. Labib: How did he die? Well, of course, he fought through many battles. And in one of the battles, he lost his front teeth. And then, one day, he was invited by a woman, who wanted to poison him. And she asked what part of the part of the body of the lamb he likes better? And then they told the other shoulder. She put a lot of ...to poison him. And he asked, what part of the body of the lamb he likes better. Then he told the other soldiers. He put a lot of poison in that. He has another person with him, and the other person ate from that lamb, and he died instantly. Mohammed ate a little piece and stopped. And then they discovered that it was poisoned, but the poison started to work in the body of Mohammed until he died. And he died on the lap of his wife Aysha. She was the youngest one. He married her when she was six years old, and he was 53. And he had intercourse with her when she was 9, and he was 56. And she was the most beloved, because she was the most beautiful of his wives, the youngest, of course. And when he died, he died on her room, because he has rooms for every wife. Every one of his wives has a special room. In some of the books they say nine wives. In some of the books they say 14 wives. And in some of the books they say 21 wives. But anyhow, he has all these number of wives. And when he died, he died with Aysha because she was the most beloved. And he died on her lap. And when he died, she told everybody, "Mohammed is dead." But he died by the effect of this poison.

the Vatican said that no one has "the right" to hurt anyone's feelings when it comes to religious commentary. We can think it, declared the Vatican, but we can't say it, write it or draw it, lest some overly delicate believer might take umbrage. From the Vatican's statement on the Danish cartoon fallout: "The right to freedom of thought and expression cannot entail the right to offend the religious sentiment of believers."

What about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German theologian and Lutheran pastor who became involved in a conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler? An avowed pacifist, Bonhoeffer nonetheless came to believe that killing Hitler was less evil than doing nothing and watching the trains go off to Dachau and Auschwitz.

Should Bonhoeffer have done nothing, said nothing, written nothing, so as not to ruffle the religious feathers of his neighbors in Nazi-occupied Europe...

According to this most silly belief - any group that "takes over" a religion at any given point in history, earns the right to trump opposition. This is the evil philosophy of every totalitarian.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a hero because he was able to challenge the conventional wisdom of his time. The Vatican is wrong on this one...

Well it sounds to me like the woman who poisoned him ought to be hailed as a feminist heroine! Hello N.O.W.? You out there gals? How 'bout it? ;)

I think we need to quit printing cartoon characters which actually trivializes the evil and show the TRUE pictures of his followers. Print on every front page every one of the beheadings these animals have done while video taping it. That, to me, shows exactly what Mohammad looks like. You shall know them by their fruits.

"By the laws of war he could have justly avenged all the cruelties inflicted on him and his people. But what treatment did he accord to them? Mohammad's heart flowed with affection and he declared, "This day, there is no REPROOF against you and you are all free." "This day" he proclaimed, "I trample under my feet all distinctions between man and man, all hatred between man and man."

I guess we all can pick and choose what we accept as "history", if we want.

There are many mythologized accounts of Mohammad's life. There are also accounts by those who don't worship him, which I find far more believable.

The guy was anything but the "most perfect example", unless one aspires to be Attila the Hum.

How did Mohammed die? Why, haven't you heard? He ascended to Heaven from the top of the Temple Mount al Quds mosque in Jerusalem, capital of Israel Islamic Palestine.

Actually, al-Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem....the mosque from which the Muslims believe Muhammad ascended to heaven is called the al-Aksa mosque (located on the Temple Mount). This isn't how he died but a night-time trip he took.
