Also, Damascus was conquered and destroyed many times. When the Byzantines lost it, it was ruined by the Caliph's armies.

The real question is if the various conquests are a fulfillment, or if it will be later.

Well .. just a conquest is not "a ruinous heap" - which to me means a nuke which levels the place!

So .. while other countries or whatever may have conquered Damascus at different times .. that does not mean "it has been taken away from being a city".
