WASHINGTON, Feb. 19, 2006 – Multinational Division Baghdad soldiers killed four terrorists and uncovered weapons caches in multiple recent incidents, military officials reported. Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, spotted insurgents launching a mortar round and requested support from attack aviation aircraft southwest of Baghdad yesterday.

After firing the mortar round, the terrorist team placed the mortar system into a white pickup truck and drove away, officials reported. A coalition forces fixed-wing aircraft later observed five men digging on the side of a canal. The individuals digging were confirmed as the same men who had fired the mortar.

The coalition aircraft engaged the terrorists, killing two and destroying their truck. The incident is under investigation.

While conducting operations in south Baghdad Feb. 17, soldiers of Company A, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, discovered two roadside bombs, officials reported. While securing the area surrounding the explosives, the patrol found a weapons cache consisting of three 155 mm mortar rounds and 17 propane tanks.

Soldiers conducting another Feb. 17 patrol discovered a second weapons cache, which consisted of 155 mm artillery shell casings, sniper rifles, blasting caps and bomb-making materials. A suspect was detained in connection with the cache.

In a third patrol Feb. 17, Troop A, 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, engaged three terrorists who were placing a roadside bomb on a roadway in south Baghdad. The engagement resulted in two terrorists killed and one wounded and detained.

During the engagement, the insurgents' vehicle exploded. Among the wreckage of the vehicle, the soldiers discovered bomb-making materials, officials reported.

Why doesn't the msm keep body counts of the enemy too? Wouldn't that be an effective way to judge how the war is going. Everytime they print "X-number of American troops have now been killed in Iraq", it should be balanced by "X-numbers of enemy insurgents and foreign terrorists have been killed or captured. I know I'm dreaming. The Communist msm steps on the truth so their twisted version of the war can be released for ignorant masses to consume.

That presupposes they have any interest in being fair in their reporting. In a short phrase: Neva hoppen, G.I.
