Whoa! First, we hear that DP buys the port facilities from a British company. Now we hear that a DP exec gets a big appointment in the Bush administration.

Again, it's time to start following the money on this one. This has a dank, unpleasant smell about it, I think. Somewhere, there's some rotting flesh.

Yup, there is something terribly wrong here. BTW, does anyone know when P&O got control?

MARAD is in charge of US port security. DP is signing on to control most operations at ports in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Miami, Baltimore and New Orleans.

There's your connection. It's exactly the one you were afraid of. Not money. Security.

Is it just me, or is there something creepy and scarey about Michael Chertoff -- who can't even get trailers to New Orleans -- telling us that Homeland Inecurity is positive that DP will be able to maintain US security but the information is classified so he can't tell us how.

What is wrong with these people?

Heads up. This is not just "a" British company. This is "THE" British company which has been operating for nigh on two centuries and has contracts with such countries as Argentina (hello, now we know why Hugo has been grabbing headlines), Germany, Autralia, and eastern bloc countries. It was also just posted on another thread that it's not just 6 US ports being contracted out but 2 military ports. The Arabs get hold of all these ports and .......
