Graham has been awful surveillance issue. He is never asked to explain just what research what law what anything upon which his opinion is based.

He has been worse on the torture issue. Graham seems to think that just because he was a JAG attorney he is the final authority on all things related to military code of conduct. He arguments never get past "I was a JAG, I think this is illegal". Whereas defenders of the President's policies quote statute and case law, Lindsey just says it is because I say it is. No one ever asked him to define torture. For all we know his interrogations would look like a scene from the Monty Python skit on the Spanish Inquisition.

As for his time as a JAG, how do we know he never got past reviewing contracting documents for time, purpose and amount?

Yeah, when Tony Snow was going to have Graham on I kept emailing hims to ask the Senator to define torture. Tony felt that was asking him to "beat Graham about the head" Curious how ONLY Bush Administration defenders ever get asked tough questions.
