With the exception of a couple FReepers who believe the President is infallible, everyone seems to be against this. It's sheer idiocy to give a Muslim country the authority to manage U.S. Ports.

True and this is a direct correlation of ownership. The Panama Canal is indirectly owned by the Red Chineese Army (if reported intel is correct).

I've been thinking about this, and it would seem the we ought to be able to play this game, too. UAE can run some ports for 6.8 billion if we can manage their oil facilities and ports and the Strait of Hormuz for the same price. If they scream "sovereignty", we say: "See?".
