An accused midget-menace and welfare cheat walked out of court yesterday, calling the accusations against her â that she and her husband cruelly likened their neighbors to the munchkins of Oz â "all lies."
Minutes after Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge John Walsh released Elizabeth Izzo on a conditional discharge of the welfare-fraud charges against her, her lawyer, Susan Mitchell, said Izzo intends to rescind her guilty plea on the more serious hate-crime charge after one of the alleged victims backed off the claim.

The women claimed Izzo's husband, Joseph, painted a yellow line outside their Brighton Beach home and shouted, "Follow the yellow brick road!" Shea and Pegues also said the couple threatened them.
Bucket of paint + bad attitude = FELONY??!!
This is surreal. I thought felons were supposed to be actively dangerous to other people. If this had involved the use of deadly weapons, I would understand it.
(What if it had been LEAD PAINT?? Oooh, that might have done it....)
Coming soon to your neighborhood -- felony convictions without the paint, just for the bad attitude. Welcome the PC Enlightenment.
"Felony" has nothing to do with weapons. There are all sorts of Felony charges.
