According to the Gannett news, "moderate" Republican Boehlert said he supports calls for a "full-scale congressional investigation" into the terrorist surveillance program, saying he had "concern[s] about the legality" of the program.

Taking the liberty of pinging my CoE list, since part of RINO Boehlert's district is Tompkins County.
bumping the Rhino flash.
No. As noted above, Boehlert is a true RINO.
fine... start with ABLE DANGER!!!
RINOs often come from the Libertarian party.
Unlike most libertarians, they have an ounce of pragmatism that tells them they will never get elected as a Libertarian, so they pick the party that they can best infiltrate.
Those who put fiscal responsibility above libertine social values go to the Republican party, and those who put their libertine social values above fiscal responsibility go to the Democratic party.
When they are pro-abortion, pro-drug Republicans, anti-government ANYTHING, they are probably a libertarian RINO.
A libertarian RINO wouldn't support increased taxes and increased environmental regulations would they?
Boehlert supports both regularly.
Oh..good point.
That is the other kind of RINO...
The ones who are Democrats that run as Republicans because their district already has a Democrat in office. Its their only way to get elected short of an incumbent kicking off.
We have a LOT of that in California too. Because the Dems hold the state so firmly, you are either a part of the Dem power-structure, or you run as a Republican even if your heart is truly liberal.
Like Bloomberg running as a Republican in NYC......?
Supposedly he's not running again this year. The guy who would replace him is a true blue C.
His only Republican primary opponent I am aware of is a guy named Brad Jones, of Seneca Falls.
Jones may be marginally better than Boehlert, but he's no "true blue conservative."
Is there another potential candidate in the mix?
