Good morning.

Just don't do what I did. I have loved Camel straights for 39 years. Even the heart attack in '97 didn't make me quit.

One fine morning just under three years ago I had a major stroke. Most of the damage healed, mostly, but the part of my brain that dealt with nicotine addiction was wiped out and the withdrawls went with it. If not for the harm the stroke did, I would say that it was a good way to quit smoking.

Now I find that I still love the smell of tobacco, burning or not, but I have no desire to smoke. It saves me a bunch of money.

I loathe the anti smoking crowd. They steal our money while trying to fool us into believing they do it for the public good.

Hmm, I'm in a bad mood this morning. I think I'll take the wife to the coast to see the new aquatic center that was built with the cigarette tax money that was supposed to pay for health care. The Pacific always make me feel peaceful.

Later,

Michael Frazier

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. That is a hell of a way to quit. Mine are caused by stress, but I've wanted to quit for other reasons, like it costs too much, and now I have a significant other. His mother smoked, and his ex smokes. He hates it.

My two strokes have been relatively mild. I find myself even worse at math than before, however. Lots of weird stuff. The doctors at the emergency room told me to eliminate all stress from my life, before they cut me loose(no insurance, and I actually went to urgent care. The nurse put me in wheelchair and took me to the ER) Hahaha, I had a date with family court the next day, and my alternator died going home from the hospital.

I plan on quitting, in fact getting down to half a pack is a major accomplishment for me.

Hope your excursion to the tobacco tax funded aquatic center was nice : )
