"if a guy with a few beers in him shoots you in the face on a hunting trip,"

At what point does he become legally slanderous and find himself in the courtroom, embroiled in a nasty, expensive civil suit?

slan·der n.

1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone.

I wonder which state would allow a class action suit by citizens who were uniformly and grievously injured by the willful and malicious slander of our Vice President?

No kidding! That was one of several 'creative disagreements' Clancy had with the production team.

Sum of all Fears was RUINED by Hollywood.

Think of PAtriot Games as well! Wrestling with a terrorist on the streets of London.

I never saw AB as believable as an "ex-Marine" Academy grad. FAR too wimpy.

Do you have any further info on that? A link, or something? I couldn't believe that Clancy would've signed off on that steaming pile. I have always been curious as to how it went down.

Pity these poor 'imitators of life', these 'pretenders', these people who never grew up.

They are constantly looking for relevance in this world, the only contribution to society is an hour and half at a time of trying to achieve a rare 'suspension of disbelief' for the public. They require constant pampering and stroking of their ego.

Their days are taken up with self examination of their appearance looking for every little wrinkle on their faces, sagging bodies and thinning hair. The most important people in their lives are plastic surgeons, mind doctors and studio heads.

Their constant fear is hearing the words from a studio head "...but what have you done for us lately".

They buy massive homes to match their ego's and spend all their time finding work to support the maintenance, thinking that they are immortal and that the public will always pay the price to see a film, just because their name is in the credits.

Otto Preminger probably said it best when he described them as 'cattle'. They are only valuable as long as they deliver a believable performance for the public to look at, in their spare time.

When the 'big screen' doesn't want them anymore, they go to television, where the quality of their talent isn't important and they are sandwiched in between commercials and their new masters are public opinion and ratings.

Poor sad creatures looking for acceptance, love and meaning to fill their empty lives and will never find it because it's all about THEM.

I thought he was going to move out of the country, what is he still doing here?

I guess all the drugs Baldwin has used and/or consumed over the years has finally caused a break down in brain tissue.

Only analogy that I can come up with to explain the totally retarded statements he has been making.

Whenever I hear this stuffed blowhard, I just think of Bruce Willis shooting his ass off a building in "Mercury Rising."

Remember...Alec Baldwin was the first Jack Ryan....but he wanted so much money for the sequels (as always, he thinks he's irreplaceable) that they got rid of him and hired Harrison Ford who continued with the role for several more movies.

He's such a jerk

Mr. Whittington's compassionate and generous statement must have been deeply disturbing to Baldwin.

By the way, according to Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin is the one who terrorizes.

LOL!! And I think of Julie Harris talking his ass off a building in "Knots Landing." Old lady gave him such a tongue-lashing he backed up until he fell off a roof.
And she was playing his mother.

"I have developed a way to view movies that may be interesting entertainment without funding them."

I came up with my own way: The wife & I haven't been to a movie since 1990. No rentals, and the only videos I've purchased are old ones from the 60's or before. Works for us!
