When you see Arec Barwin, you will see the true ugriness of human nature
Pity these poor 'imitators of life', these 'pretenders', these people who never grew up.
They are constantly looking for relevance in this world, the only contribution to society is an hour and half at a time of trying to achieve a rare 'suspension of disbelief' for the public. They require constant pampering and stroking of their ego.
Their days are taken up with self examination of their appearance looking for every little wrinkle on their faces, sagging bodies and thinning hair. The most important people in their lives are plastic surgeons, mind doctors and studio heads.
Their constant fear is hearing the words from a studio head "...but what have you done for us lately".
They buy massive homes to match their ego's and spend all their time finding work to support the maintenance, thinking that they are immortal and that the public will always pay the price to see a film, just because their name is in the credits.
Otto Preminger probably said it best when he described them as 'cattle'. They are only valuable as long as they deliver a believable performance for the public to look at, in their spare time.
When the 'big screen' doesn't want them anymore, they go to television, where the quality of their talent isn't important and they are sandwiched in between commercials and their new masters are public opinion and ratings.
Poor sad creatures looking for acceptance, love and meaning to fill their empty lives and will never find it because it's all about THEM.
