Several years ago in Houston a transvestite (sp?) who had served time for murder ran for something as a Democrat--and got some votes!

There was an anglo male who had served time for murder in Galveston County, had a sex change operation, adopted the surname of his/her Hispanic lover and ran for the Chairmanship of the Harris County Democrat Party - and won the primary without a run-off!

The Party was very upset with him/her because he/she wasn't the one the Party selected to give the job to. He obviously got a lot of votes because a) folks thought he was a she and b) people thought he was Hispanic. He used the race card and the gender card liberals always exploit to perfection but this did not sit well with the Party's power brokers.

They couldn't fire him/her and they couldn't impeach him/her so the Party met in executive session and stripped the chairmanship bare of any actual power before he/she could be sworn in.

It was a shame because here, in one candidate, they had somebody who could galvanize the women's vote, the homosexual vote, the minority vote, the freak vote and the felon vote by claiming to be "one of them". In other words, he/she was the very FACE of what the Democrat Party has come to represent. And, yet, the "party of tolerance" basically shunned him/her/it and trated him/her/it like an outcast. A real shame I tell ya.

That's one of the funniest stories I've read in a long time. Still laughing.

Folks, read this one! Poetic justice. The ideal, perfect Dem candidate - and what do they do? What chances ruined. What a potential rising star.
