LUCKNOW, MEERUT, FEBRUARY 17: The Minister for Minority Welfare and Haj in the Mulayam Singh Yadav government, Haji Yaqoob Qureishi, has announced a cash reward of Rs 51 crore for anyone who beheads the Danish cartoonist who caricatured Prophet Mohammad.
While the state government has defended the Ministers remark as the voice of someone whose religious sentiments have been hurt, a senior member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has slammed it calling the reward anti-Islamic and anti-humanity.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Qureishi defended his announcement saying it was a concerted decision and the killing of a person who blasphemed Islam was justified.
Addressing a gathering at the Faiz-e-Azam College in Meerut after Friday prayers today, Qureishi announced the reward and urged Muslims to show proof of being himayat-e-Islami by joining in the protest.
Taking the cue, several shopkeepers downed shutters with speakers demanding an apology from the Danish government. They also demanded that New Delhi snap diplomatic ties with Denmark.
When contacted, UP Principal Secretary, Home, Alok Sinha told The Indian Express: The ministers reaction was the voice of someone whose religious sentiments have been hurt. Moreover, since the reference was to a person who is far off, there is no question of an FIR being lodged against the minister.
However, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board member and Naib Imam of Aishbagh Idgah, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, criticised the Ministers call for the killing of the cartoonist.
The Ministers statement is anti-Shariat, anti-Islam and anti-humanity, Mahali said. The western media is already up against Islam, the ministers statement will only add fuel to the fire. The Prophet believed in pardoning others for sins committed by them, the Maulana said, Who are we to issue such irresponsible statements?
"^^^ Islamic spirit."

"But you've gotten me worried suddenly. Are you going away for a long time?"
now why would you think that?
As long as you can stop yourself away from biting it or conversing with it, it'll stay fine.
You are more kooky than I thought you were.
Only if you can make it as good as a Tandoori meat curry.
Jiminy.
If you consume it, wouldn't it be cannibalistic on your part?
Hindus don't have to learn about muslims from the likes of you, muzzie. We have suffered enough at their end for hundreds of years (and unortunately, don;t seem to have learned our lessons as yet).
You're absolutely right....check out this thread for a brief historical analysis of the genocide of Hindus by these barbarians: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1565272/posts

Chennai, February 18: The BJP today demanded the arrest and dismissal of Uttar Pradesh Haj minister Mohammed Yaqoob Qureshi who announced a reward of Rs 51 crore and gold on the head of the Danish cartoonist for lampooning Prophet Mohammed.
Terming the reward a result of a mad competition of vote-bank politics between Samajwadi Party and Congress, former party M Venkaiah Naidu demanded immediate action of the centre and the UP governor in this regard.
"The BJP disapproves such caricatures, whether Danish or Indian. The so-called secularists have shown no Opposition to the caricature of noted painter M F Hussain," he told a news conference here.
"How can a minister give such a statement? This is cheap tactics and an attempt at vote bank politics", he said.
Turning to the issue of head counts of minorities in the Army, Naidu said his party would oppose tooth-and-nail the Centre's move as it was an "anti-national act".
"It is sectarian and divisive and demoralises the Army," he said.
The move was "fraught with dangerous implications" and so the "party has already advised its state governments not to cooperate with the Sacchar Committee constituted to study the status of minorities, he said.
In India, seems the opposition out of power (NDA) is a beacon of sanity. In the US, the opposition out of power (Democrat party) is a beacon of insanity.
