HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- The corpses of at least 20 newborn babies and fetuses are found each week in the sewers of Zimbabwe's capital, some having been flushed down toilets, Harare city authorities said, according to state media Friday.

Town Clerk Nomutsa Chideya said the babies' remains were found among a wide variety of waste and garbage cleared by city council workers unblocking sewers and drains in Harare.

"Apart from upsetting the normal flow of waste, it is not right from a moral standpoint. Some of the things that are happening now are shocking," the

I'm sure that the fetuses found there were there by "choice".

Do I really need to put a sarcasm tag here?

There must be a way to blame this on colonialism.

The primary concern of the article seems to be the poor Zimbabweans, not the babies.

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) -- The corpses of at least 20 newborn babies and fetuses are found each week in the sewers of Zimbabwe's capital, some having been flushed down toilets...

This is not my world. I'm just passing thru, learning and observing, and going on to a better place.

Y'all vote for anyone you like. Be it for POTUS or your county selectman....really makes no difference...and neither do they.

This world is and always has been the battle between good/evil. Nothing has changed except we here have better sewers..

How you live your life makes a big difference. The original "grass roots" so to speak.

I cannot hope to influence a nation. I can and have influenced a few people in my world. I am not ashamed for that influence, albeit it small. The "leaders" of "this world" are smaller men and more deserving of shame than I or you. They just have more power and "sway" than you or I do.

Until these bureaucrats and "world leaders" realize that there is a higher power that they will answer to, they have no credence.

My sympathy and pity to the poor men who do this work. It is a filthy and thankless job and then to have to carry the rotting lifeless corpses of the innocents discarded like worthless garbage.

The leaders of Zimbabwe’s have much to answer for in the here after. I pray that a special hell awaits men such as these.

From the breadbasket of Africa to this God-foresaken hell, in less than a generation. And for what? So these poor people can be bullied, starved and murdered by someone with the same color of skin? It's just sick.

Who knows how many of these babies were aborted by desperate mothers and how many were aborted and miscarried because of semi-starvation and malnutrition.

On a note closer to home my husband was born in 1929 in Peoria, Ill, where he lived his first 6 years. He always remembers his mother's distress when they drained the Peoria reservoir and found 23 infant corpses. This would have been at the height of our own Depression. Unfortunately the choice is not always between abortion and a live child. Sometimes it is between abortion and infanticide or child abuse.
