MORE SNOWBOARDING!!!!
Snowboarding - Women: World champion Lindsey Jacobellis looks to make history by winning the first ever gold medal in snowboard cross."
She had the medal in the bag...but lost it when she tried to * Ham it up* for the crowd.
That cross snowboarding looks like a lot of fun.
YEEE and HAAAA!!!!
Daytona 500 this week-end...if ya need a break from tape delayed. :)
Okay, we all kind of got hooked on the snowboarding last night!
As somebody said, it's an actualy RACE!
BigSky is keeping a running count; maybe we can get him to post it here -- if he's up yet!
Seems all our gold is coming from the snowboarding events.
Feel free to flame me, but there is alot of crunch-time gagging going on w/ the Americans in these games. That Apolo guy fell in one of his qualifiers, Bode Miller has flat out choked. Even in curling, I saw both the mens and womens rock throwers(?), flop on the last critical throw.
Wescott was so smooth,, you can sure tell who the surfers are.
Snowboard Cross is now my favorite winter olympic event. Last night's race was great. I'm also impressed by the calibre of the snowboard teams...they're the antithesis of Bode Miller and Johnny Weir and the other ego maniacs out there.
If it wasn't for all of the Winter X-Games events they've added, the US would hardly have any medals.
You're exactly right; and NBC isn't spending enough time "teaching" us "oldsters" how these "games" are played.
Everybody is in an uproar because Wescott said that snowboarding is the heart and soul of the Olympics; I wave that bravado off as youth, but he does have a point.
Where is the LUST in the other sports?
And as an added element, snow is MUCH prettier than MUD!
Amen to that...and even so it's still a heart pumping spectacle to watch. I don't think there was a single heat last night where all 4 boarders made it all the way down the hill! Loved it!
Women's curling has a lot of good-looking young women.
And somebody tell Bryant Gumball that the Russian women's curling team has a black chick on it.
I admire the biathlete and cross country skiers most, those are some tough folks and train long and hard to reach the Olympics.
The board sports are a lot easier to cover. The competitors are literally pros as they board all year round. It's turning into the Olympics X-games, little by little.
>>Snowboard Cross is now my favorite winter olympic event<<
Mine too!
Now if they can shoot a rifle while snowboarding, I would pay to watch that.
I noticed that this morning. I would guess that she's not African-American: more likely is that she's from far eastern Russia, where the people have some Mongol and Hun bloodlines. (And I could easily be wrong on this.)
I swear I thought I saw some footage of them doing something like that in Alaska!
