"People familiar with the deal said administration officials were yesterday briefing lawmakers on the deal to assuage their concerns."

I hope these lawmakers will stand their ground and refuse to be silenced by "officials."

No American company bid on this? Then find one that was interested and give them a good deal.

No amount of "briefings" could ever convince me that Arabs need to run our ports.

I'm glad we still have people like Senator Richard Shelby watching out for America's best interest. (And this time also thanks to Senator Chuck Schumer.)

this is one instance where political divides must be set aside, for the good of the country. anybody with common sense sees the stupidity and dangerous consequences of such a deal taking place. I pray to God someone listens and bids for the safety of my country.

"Hey, it's diverse and multicultural..."

It is almost a certainty that the Muzzies won't approve of that.

Good research. Republicans/the Administration will lose lots of support if they let this deal go through.

"if an attack were to happen, the UAE would know we'd blame them first."

Yeah that's right. We would most certainly hold Senate Investigations afterwards. That would be likely to make them think twice wouldn't it?
