who petulantly insist they will 'stay home' unless the GOP is much more aligned with their values, should realize this.
The flipside of that statement is that Republicans politicians who want to stay in power should not forget that they are supposed to be somewhat conservative.

You're right, but thats not the flipside of the statement.
One issue types aren't looking for 'somewhat conservative.' They look for complete adherence to their one fetish issue. It's a mental disorder.
