The new scoring system stinks. Worse than the old one, which was pretty pathetic. I read today that they weren't able to fill the stadium for the men's long program, which was unheard of in previous Olympics, and I believe its due to the insanity that this new system is creating. The judges are anonymous, which only emboldens them to cheat at a higher level than they have in the past.

I'm a long time skating fan, but when the Chinese team won the silver, after falling and stopping their routine, I threw in the towel. I couldn't watch tonight, a first for me since the 1970's.

And the scores are randomly chosen by the computers. Then high and low are tossed. It just sounds so un-interactive. And they wonder why the audience isn't interacting with the skaters.
