I watched it as well. What turned me off about the women is they all grabbed their skate blade and cruised around. That and the fact the music stinks, both men and women. Can't anyone actually skate to upbeat music and at least try to coordinate with the tempo and rhythm? There was one women skater, I think it was a regional competition, who wasn't that bad and did a techo kind of performance, she was very fun to watch.

It was very uninspiring. I recall watching skaters actually smile during the routine! And a look of pure joy after completing a perfect program.

Something is definitely missing.

Don't forget the worst commentators. They trashed the skater from France, who wasn't that bad. 6th or 7th overall at the Olympics is not terrible. He was much better than the sissy with the fishnets.

Curling became somewhat of a cult sport in Britain last Olympics. People gathered at the pubs, had a few pints and watched those stones glide across the ice.

I love it :-)

BTW: Just reading that so far in the Olympics: Curling has the best TV ratings in Italy. Even more than figure skating.

Curling rules :-)

Norway playing Italy at the moment. A must win game for Norway, since we lost to you guys. GO Norway.

Did anyone notice Jacobellis in the snowboarding finals?

She had a HUGE lead, coming up on the last jump she decided to * ham * it for the crowd, jumping into a nose grab...she fell, letting the Swiss win gold...

hope she doesnt sleep well tonight...or for 4 years...sportsmanship?

The thing is, they're so deserving of each other.

I rarely if ever watch H&C......but on the rare occasion when I'm channel surfing I want to strangle Colmes.

That's why I never questioned the Candy/Alan marriage! They are perfect for each other, in a *WTH else could live with them* sort of way!

Monica's sister is a lib.

I don't believe anyone who says that Alan is a nice person. He's a hateful, smarmy, jackass.

I don't think anyone has noticed. I clicked on the slide show because the US ice dancing team was the first picture, and I wanted to show hubby a picture of the female. He always listens to sports' radio, and there's one show where the hosts keep going on and on about how a wife can say something like, "Wow. Tom Brady looks really good out there," but if a husband says, "That (ice dancer person whose name escapes me) is HOT," then the husband is in the dog house. So I told hubby that the skater in question is very pretty. I was going to show him her picture. Then I saw this Michelle Kwan photo, and, well, I'm as impressed as I was with the Kerry daughter in France.

I watched Sasha Cohen's long program during the US Nationals. She skates to the music from "Romeo and Juliet." She plays the part very well. I think there are a few folks skating to that music, but she was very good. I've always thought she was a very talented skater, but she has mental lapses during high pressure situations. I hope she holds it all together this time.
