That's easy to say when they aren't your Representative.
Majette was at least cordial to those who lived in the northern part of the district. To Cynthia, we are the enemy. We didn't vote for her, so we aren't her constituents.
I recently wanted to send an e-mail to my rep on a relatively non-partisan issue. I called her local office. She has NO PUBLICLY AVAILABLE E-MAIL ADDRESS. Can you believe that? I asked how I could get something to her in writing. They said mail. I asked if they had a fax number. They couldn't give me one for DC - where she was at the time - but said if I faxed it to the local office they'd forward it to her.
I figure she gets so much hate mail that she tries to avoid the mail.
My Reps have been no gems, I've had nothing but a string of Democrats since I was born here in Nashville. Jim Cooper is almost as liberal as McKinney (and is even more liberal than Harold Ford, Jr), but is so low-key that he doesn't stir any fervent opposition, and that is a major part of the problem.
As much as I feel your pain having the crazy evil bitch as your Rep., especially after seeing her performance earlier today on C-Span, you're having to take one for the team to ensure the rest of the country remains in sane hands. :-|
