I like the Governor. He's a very personable soul, and he's not above talking to just your ordinary citizen like me.

He also has an excellent staff, and he has really improved his public speaking in his time in office.

Besides . . . he's a vet! He helped publicize the "neuter your pets" campaign by performing a spaying for the cause -- IIRC people bid for the privilege of having the Gov do their pet -- and he's a good vet, very steady and calm.

What a change from King Roy! What I like about Perdue is that if there is a situation he handles it. With increasing gas prices he closed the schools 2 days and suspended the state gas tax. End of story, case closed. He was also tough on the gas gougers.

I was upset that he "reluctantly" signed the smoking ban. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Smoking is the modern leprosy.

When I was coming along, just about everybody smoked (although even we were grossed out by the dishevelled harridans lighting one from the end of the other and stinking like an ashtray.)

Now, the younger generation is grossed out by the slightest whiff of tobacco smoke. They don't see the smoking ban as a restriction on freedom, but a public health and safety issue. Perdue didn't really have much of a choice.

hmmm...

Excuse me, msnimje, but don't insult mentally diminished people. They don't want to be associated with Cynthia McKinney.
