Well The Executive Branch is liable to legal action and such matters are decided by the Judicial. Not to say this was the correct decision but you can't make a blanket statement that they have no authority over them at all. Constitutional matters are decided by the Judicial Branch. As for what the Executive can do to the Judicial...appoint them.

constitutional matters are only decided by the Judaical because they claimed that right, not because it was constitutionally granted to them.

The President nor congress is bound to follow any order if that order infringes on their constitutionally granted rights.
