Samsung is a leader in this tech. I love it and will be buying the 42 after I move. I have never bought a service contract. I used to buy large quantities of computers and only rarely did I have one be bad...so I figure the odds are in my favor.

No I agree, I never buy service contracts except for cars. I guess with the Bulb that need changing and the tweaking after thats done I may buy the contract.My friend who has this model is glad he did and you can call them anytime you like if you are not satisfied.
