DALLAS (AP) - Four police officers were shot Thursday as they tried to serve a federal drug warrant on a home in southwest Dallas.
One officer was in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the head, Dallas Police Lt. Rick Watson said. The others were in fair condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
The officers had approached the home in an armored personnel carrier, Watson said. When they announced the raid over a loudspeaker, someone inside the home started shooting, he said.
Four officers were hit, and Watson said the armored vehicle moved between them and the gunfire so they could be pulled to safety.

the perps should be dead....period.
Wonder if this will be on "DALLS SWAT"?
It was a "knock and announce" raid, instead of a "no knock" one. That basically did away with the element of surprise.
Prayers go out to the victims (Police Officers, in case some DUmmies are lurking)
Those armored personnel carriers are a dead giveaway. But chicks sure dig 'em.
what are they armored with, tin foil?
If drugs were legal, those cops wouldn't have been shot.
That said, I hope all the cops make a full recovery...and I hope they throw those criminals in a hole somewhere...
What went wrong and why are they announcing their arrival?
If this is new protocol then the proof is in the hospital; this method doesn't work.
And while they are at it they should fire the guy that said they should announce their arrival.
IT'S THE LIBERAL-TARIANS FAULT, I SWEAR!! < /Hysterical, incoherent Drug Warrior rant >
You can make rope from hemp.
But I don't think it should be legal.
ping for later
This is Texas, so I'm sure whatever sentence the perps receive will automatically be upgraded to death.
That's my question: How in hell did these cops get shot if they were in the APC??? Either they took some armor piercing rounds or they were outside the APC.
What's wrong with this picture? ...... Only everything!
They could have just waited for the perps to leave the house and picked them up on the street. But then they don't get to play Army with their shiny military toys.
BUMP
