New York -- For days, the White House news corps has pounded the Bush administration, demanding to learn more about Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting companion Saturday.

Cheney finally addressed the incident Wednesday, but the forum in which he chose to do so -- in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Brit Hume -- quickly became another source of contention.

Is nobody just a little concerned that Dick admitted to "having one beer" on the day he shot someone? I couldn't count the times in my younger days, when I said, " I just had one beer".

Lets see he had the beer at 11:00 and the shooting happened between 5:30 and 6:00.

Yep, looks real bad(if you are without any common sense).

That was one h^$$ of a strong beer....where can I get one.

Funny but you are not so exercised over the actual murder of an innocent girl at the hands of Sen. Kennedy.

All I can say is good. I was only indifferent to Russert 6-8 years ago.

Now I don't waste a minute watching him.

Speaking of tweaking the media, on Rush yesterday he said if they catch bin laden, the white house ought to release it to the Grass Valley California Gazette. LoL!""

He's close: It is the UNION. They have gone from a heavyily conservative county- Nevada County- and newspaper to one that is flaming liberal.
One of the reasons I gave up a large log house on 5 acres last year and moved into a more rural area. Too many Bay Area newcomers telling all of us how to take care of ourselves and our animals.

That would have been an interesting interview:

DAVID GREGORY: Mr. Vice-President, why didn't you just pick up the phone and call me?

VICE-PRESIDENT: Well, my first concern was for my friend, whom I had accidentally shot. I wanted to get medical attention for him and...

DG: But couldn't you have called me? Surely there was a free moment in there somewhere.

VP: Frankly I was worried about my friend, and then I had to also report this to local law enforcement authorities. That seemed more important.

DG: More important than providing information the chief White House correspondent for NBC News? You really believe that?

VP: Yes, I do.

DG: (rolls eyes and shakes his head).

VP: There was also concern for my friend's family. I didn't want them to hear something in the media until they had been contacted personally.

DG: Hearing something from me over the TV or radio is as good, if not better, than hearing it personally. Do you not know who I am? I'm David Gregory, damn it!

VP: Frankly, David, I think you're getting overwrought about this. You could hardly expect to me call you when I was worried about an accident I caused, and for which I take full responsibility.

DG: What I want to know is if you take full responsibility for your failure to call me. That's the real issue here, isn't it?

VP: (trying to keep from laughing in Gregory's face) What???

DG: That's right. Surely you have my phone numbers, both work and home, saved on your cell phone. And if I'm not at either place you know I can usually be found at Mr. Bruce's Hair Salon.

VP: (snickering) Mr. Bruce's Hair Salon????

DG: I'm the greatest White House correspondent in the history of journalism. I need my beautiful hair to keep my position.

At this point, Cheney flattens Gregory with a single punch and walks off the set.

MSNBC statistically ZERO viewer ratings.

CNN a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar distant third in a two man race.

CNN is also prone to spin to the left because they are a repackaging video source for its foreign outlets. IOW CNN bundles news for the market spin required of an anti-american world.

FNC equals viewers period.

Which could be one of the President's greatest unintended legacies.

The complete exposure of the decades of deception by political operatives posing as journalists.

"They called for the vice president to hold a news conference with the rest of the media."

Cheney had better hold his ground here, atleast. Shun them.

Lest we forget, it was announced at CPAC last week and reported that the '06 Republican Strategy included bypassing mainstream media to get the Republican message out.

If the Republicans can pull it off. It will be huge.

---excerpt from the 1,760th CyberAlert. Tracking Liberal Media Bias Since 1996 Monday July 12, 2004 (Vol. Nine; No. 123)---

On Inside Washington, a weekend discussion show taped at and run by the Gannett-owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC, WUSA-TV, and carried by many PBS stations across the country, Evan Thomas [Editor Newsweek] pointed out the boost to the Kerry/Edwards ticket provided by the press corps:

“There’s one other base here: the media. Let’s talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win. And I think they’re going to portray Kerry and Edwards -- I’m talking about the establishment media, not Fox, but -- they’re going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic and all, there’s going to be this glow about them that some, is going to be worth, collectively, the two of them, that’s going to be worth maybe 15 points.”

The week’s Newsweek, dated July 19, certainly backs up Thomas’ contention. Over a smiling picture on the cover of Kerry and Edwards, Newsweek ever hopefully asks: “The Sunshine Boys?” To see the cover: www.msnbc.msn.com
