"not telling the press amounted to not telling the citizens."

And not knowing for that 20 or so hours really has had a substantial impact on MY life...he was thinking of his friend, and his friend's family, as he should. Yes, the public had a right to know but that needed to be balanced with what was best for the actual people affected.

Yes, some people are weak, and more susceptible to the press and propaganda.

If its not on TV, means it did not happen, and if the press doesn't put their blessing on something means its somehow not legit.

This comes from years of brainwashing, and the fact the the NYTCBSABCMBCCNNNBCPBS, have run this country for 30 years.

No pol makes a move without their approval. Which is why we have very few pols who behave independent of the NYT editorial page.
