If the analogy holds, then to "wage war on Islam" in the sense that we waged war on Germany and Japan in WWII, then the legitimate military targets of this war would not be Muslims per se, but rather the institutions of Islamic government: Mosques, Madrassas, and the Islamic clerical establishment. Let firebrand Imams understand that they incendiary rhetoric will be swiftly followed by a very real incendiary response and the tone will quickly change. It's one thing to exhort others to "martyrdom", quite another to find oneself on the front lines of a real war.

I can buy into that a lot easier than into the "kill 'em all" rhetoric.
I don't want to fight a religious war, but it sure beats a genocidal one.
Those who proclaim their desire to "kill 'em all" should be willing to personally cut the throats of the first 10 Muslim babies. Either that or shut up.
