YOU - HOO!
HELLO!
VP Cheney has not given them any help. The local press was notified. It's the WH press and MSM who are rabid and mad because they were SCOOPED.

True, but the NYTimes' printing headlines along these lines are like cheering for this man to die. They are sickos...there is no way they want this man to live....and that is sad.

The Constitution does not forbid a sitting VP from stepping down so I don't see how it's an issue. All I know is that from now till 2009 there will be reference to this incident everytime Cheney is in the news.

I'm still mad about that.
To: Minus_The_Bear
Well, they still bring up the President choking on a pretzel. Guess he should step down too according to that criteria.

I agree that they are likely "cheering" for him to die. But the grand jury comment isn't necessarily out of line IMHO.
To: Soul Seeker
choking on a pretzel and accidentally shooting an old man are too different things.

So you actually THINK (not feel, but THINK) that a Vice President........possibly one of the finest most capable VP's in the country's history, who has done absolutely nothing wrong............should STEP DOWN because the press is made up of a bunch of pre-pubescent ninnies??
That's what you actually think?

SO WHAT?
Are you one of the minority who are against VP Cheney and not the hysterical news media?

The news reports released from the hospital have been encouraging.....it is unseemly to speculate, and indeed to wish, he would die to sell more papers. I have heard all the arguements on tv..........I still think the poor man has a private life and they should leave him alone - and I mean the man who got shot. Let the poor man recover in peace.

"I wasn't aware that vice presidents held news conferences.
Is anybody else?"Nope. In fact, my recollection is that most of the time the press makes a habit of ignoring VPs.

So it wasn't even until after 9 that he'd been transported to the larger facility.
I wonder if Cheney and group didn't at first realize the injury was maybe as extensive as it turned out.

Apparently so, onyx. He sure isn't making sense, so I guess the fact that he's on the side of the media is no surprise.

Gee, you mean the press is going to say mean things about him?
Golly, we'd better just give in now and have him resign. No use fighting the MSN after all.
We need to do what they want or, GASP, they might not like us! OH THE HORROR!!!

VP did not break one law, yet this poster wants him to step down.
It would be laughable were it not so thoroughly pathetic.
