an American wearing a CCCP jacket

I've been thinking about that a lot..Americans wearing CCCP clothes. You all may think it shows their support of the old Russia, but I think it's a big middle finger to the former Soviet system.

It's like this: "Ya, Russia, you thought you were so big and so bad, and you thought we'd quake at the mere presence of your athletes...we'd see that CCCP and just give up the medals. Huh! Ya, Russia, did you know we can buy your old clothes at the local goodwill store? Once the claws have been removed from the bear, the bear is not such a big deal."

If I could find some of the Russian gear, I'd wear it. Just to sorta rub it in!

I was a swimmer in a former life. I have tons of CCCP clothes from swimming trips to the former Soviet Union. Should I put those on Ebay for the young?

I think that Weir probably wears the jacket because considering his program last night, he thinks that he's the prima ballerina at the Moscow Ballet.

However, the fact that you can now probably buy a Soviet sweatshirt at high-end botiques in NYC for ninety/ hundred dollars a pop is a tribute to capitalism and a very funny but likely unintentional Nah-Nah at the Communistas. We won and therefore can sell Soviet Union-inspired coterie for outrageously inflated prices.
