Today President Bush welcomed the 2005 NCAA National Champion University of Texas Longhorns football team to the South Lawn at the White House, where he congratulated the team and coaches with great humor and warmth.........and a lot of Texas pride! Later in the day, he welcomed members of the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in the Oval Office of the White House. The council, created by the USA Freedom Corps in 2003, promotes volunteerism and recognizes Americans who serve our communities and the world.
First Lady, Laura Bush visited the Giant Pandas at the National Zoo.
Today the news was released that Mr. Harry Whittington, who was accidentally hit with birdshot in a hunting accident with Vice President Cheney, had had a very mild, asymptomatic heart attack. He is being carefully watched and being treated conservatively, and is expected to fully recover. We need to keep Mr Whittington and Vice President Cheney in our prayers. The media are in a feeding frenzy, and are completely out of control.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island............ some wonderful photos today on the Daily Dose!! And a Happy Valentines Day to you all!!
I think I saw a sticker somewhere. Was it blue and yellow?
Hi there snugs.
Happy Valentines Day. I bet this was not the kind of thing you wanted for your not-so-secret crush this day!
Does the mirror crack when she looks in it? Can we pour water on her and melt her??
The Dallas Morning News had a huge upper right front page headline that read, "Cheney did not have sticker for quail hunting."
Can you believe it?
I'm gonna write and tell them it reminded me of the time they had a headline in the same place reading, "Sandy Berger steals classified documents--hides in pants."
Oh, wait. They never had such a headline.
Some of my best clothes are 'hand-me-ups.' My daughter has much better clothes sense than I do.
Gregory went berserk, snugs, because Scott McClellan hit him where he lives by suggesting he wait till the cameras were on before getting his digs in.
He really did go absolutely wacko. Funny to hear.
A big part of it is that the styles changed, and that the 'baggy' look that was popular in the '90's is passe', and baggy works for me, so I got a bunch of barely worn sweaters and tops.........including the panda. :)
***I think I saw a sticker somewhere. Was it blue and yellow?***
Nope,, it's orange and blue. Do you want me to download one for you? (Or is that "upload"? I never could figure that out.)
The President has a real talent for putting people at ease. It's apparent in all his interactions with people.
That story was really funny! I think Scott deserves a hug for that.
David Gregory (the ape man) was on some leftie tv show tonite all calm and measured and claiming it wasn't 'about him,' but about the 'people's right to know.'
As if. #*^hole.
That's right. I only saw it once.
BTW, what kind of adopted joint-custody Freeper son would I be if I didn't give you flowers and candy? :)
The press has such a double standard. Surely most people notice this? Let's hope.
and ...
We had this semi-argument in my Liberal Arts (yes, it's called Liberal Arts 101...don't ask) class. We have to read the NY Times and the professor just HAD to bring up the accident. The girl sitting next to me (who is also a conservative) got REALLY annoyed. And I told the prof it was like the media seems to think the VP should have called the NY Times first and the ambulance second. I was proud of that line...several people thought it was funny :) For some reason, the media seems to think the Vice President is supposed to run out and hold a press conference every time something happens in his life. *rolling my eyes* They're so obnoxious.
I thought I was pretty clever too :)
