I'm sure the MSM will try to hold Cheney resposible. The guy is 78 and likely had a history of heart disease. It probably saved his life that he was in a hospital when this happened.

Texas Code §19.04. Manslaughter
(a) A person commits an offense if he recklessly causes the death of an individual.

Texas Code §6.03 (c) A person acts recklessly, or is reckless, with respect to circumstances surrounding his conduct or the result of his conduct when he is aware of but consciously disregards a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that its disregard constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor's standpoint.

[My note: this is a tougher standard than "criminal negligence" which is a tougher standard than "civil negligence." Personally, I see no chance of charges being brought.]

Once again the Power of the State helps to cut the underpinnings of civility from under society.

Doesn't surprise me. It was suggested ad nauseum during the first term, and I thought it was bad timing then. Besides, if you really want to give your man a chance, why would you want to put him in a job that isn't worth a bucket of warm p!ss?

I am not a lawyer, but it is my belief that the only thing in GA he could be charged with is something akin to negligent homicide or reckless conduct. But there's hunting accidents periodically where people are killed and unless there was really some kind of criminal or reckless behavior people don't get charged.

"If you really want to give your man a chance, why would you want to put him in a job that isn't worth a bucket of warm p!ss?"

That "bucket of warm p!ss" job of VP is often a springboard for the Presidency, isn't it?

Since conservative Mike Pence lacks name recognition, what better way to accomplish that?

Although, the GOP philosophy seems to have mutated into kissing RINO @ss lately.

Often? Five times by election; more if you want to count assassination or other deaths in office.

A VP IS an advantage....

If not by outright winning, it's often neck and neck even with a loss...

In recent times, VPs who ran were Truman, Nixon, Johnson, Bush I, Gore...

Truman won, Nixon got robbed in 1960, Bush I won, and Gore won the popular vote.

"""I know lots of democrats that hunt and shoot.""" Yeah, and I know alot of heathens that go to church.

Hunting or not hunting does not make you a Democrat, Republican, conservative, liberal or anything else! There are lots of liberals who hunt, lots of democrats who hunt. There are lots of conservatives who don't hunt.

I wouldn't really count Truman, since he was already President when he ran.

The liberals, however, have been conducting purges as of late. If you hunt, smoke, eat meat, etc. you are not welcome.

That is true and it is exactly why I hate liberals. They always know what is best for you.

150 pellets? Wow. The guy must have been wearing very thin clothing.

A couple of things don't add up, though. There have been comments about pellets being "just under the skin" as one would expect for small lead shot at 100 ft distance.

I think that the report said that the pellets were in the "right side head and neck." That makes sense, but not 150 concentrated in that small an area (again at 100 feet no matter how good your choke is).

I thought that the eye-witness said that the victim was on Cheney's right. Then wouldn't he get hit in the left side?

But how do these pellets then migrate? Did one enter a vein and get pumped to the heart? Could it next get pumped to a lung?

"Bull,Cheney should not resign."

It's advantageous for him to do so as VP if ONLY as an excuse to groom the next VP as the POTUS 2008 candidate (like Mike Pence.)

NOT, because of any MSM/Dem pressure.

He can always remain in the administration and take on a different position as special advisor or whatever.
