" "The chief deputy sheriff for Kenedy County, Gilbert San Miguel, said the investigation into the shooting had not yet been completed, but that alcohol had not been a contributing factor and that the incident was being treated as a hunting accident."
Maybe you should do more reading instead of shooting your mouth off at me. You sound angry. "

No, I'm not angry. Why would I be? Or anyway why would I be mad at YOU? We're all good conservative Republicans here, aren't we?
What you said, in the post I was responding to, was:
""did anyone hear him say that Cheney and the others were drinking (alcohol) at the time? Well we here on FR know that's not true,"
I had read the statement you quoted from the deputy sheriff. He said "alcohol was not a CONTRIBUTING factor." The sheriff didn't say that "nobody was drinking at the time." Those are two different things.
They could easily have had a drink or even two, without that being a "CONTRIBUTING" factor to the unfortunate incident. Unless you think that if they did have a drink it automatically means that was the reason Whittington got shot.
My point was, I honestly don't think we can yet say we "KNOW" much at all.

Awh, come on.

Toldyou has it right and you're just trying to save face. Every report states that there was no drinking. Others have pointed out that Cheney's heart condition and medications prevents him from drinking, so that's ruled out. You're just splitting words and nit-picking the facts because you're back-peddling so fast you're about to trip over your own words. This is the kind of "the-fact-are-to-be-found-between-the-lines" mentality I would expect from the MSM, not someone who supposedly supports Cheney and the Bush administration.

While I don't think Cheney has ever given us a list of all the medications he's taking, we know it must be a lot - I wonder if any of these prohibit him from drinking alcohol?

Heart attack survivors generally all end up on the same classes of medications, and there are few medicines available for gout. Medications for heart attack survivors:

ACE inhibitor such as lisinopril (Zestril), or AR blocker
anti-cholesterol "statin" such as atorvastatin (Lipitor)
aspirin
beta-blocker such as atenolol (Tenormin), metoprolol, or carvedilol (Coreg)
fish oil capsules
nitroglycerin prn
? second lipid-lowering medication
? second blood pressure medication

For generalized atherosclerotic disease:
pentoxifylline (Trental)
sildenafil (Viagra) prn

For left ventricular dysfunction:
furosemide (Lasix)
beta blocker as noted above (esp. carvedilol)
ACE inhibitor/AR blocker as noted above
? digitalis (Digoxin)
? aldosterone blocker such as spironolactone or eplerenone (Inspra)

For gout:
allopurinol (Zyloprim)
indomethacin (Indocin) prn

Other:
yearly influenza immunization
multi-vitamin
low-fat, high-fiber diet
bee sting kit near at hand (for food allergy)
Other possible medications include more aggressive anti-coagulation, e.g. with warfarin (Coumadin). If Cheney's "metabolic disorders" are related to glucose intolerance, he may be taking oral anti-diabetic medicines.
