Thanks. I didn't realize it went so far back. A "trade" term that has just recently become popular with the rest of us, perhaps.
That was when I was writing for computer magazines. The PR flacks were all these 20-something bubble-headed hotties who had just finished journalism school. Buncha valley girls. They all had their PR jargon down pat.
I was the bane of their existence, since I had a really good position at a major magazine. I hated jargon, and regularly refused to talk to them, insisting on talking to someone who actually knew something.
