Of course it's good news. Though the birds will still be protected, as they should be.
Hunting season? I don't see a good reason. From what I hear, they don't taste any better than coot....

What actually happened is, there are a lot more bald eagles than they thought.
They started looking closer and saw a bunch of ordinary eagles that were doing comb-overs.

I live in north-central Ohio. In my neck of the woods, I have seen a few on the wing and one standing right next to a county road I was driving on.
The eagle next to the road looked like he was the world's emperor as he looked down his beak at me. I wished that I had brought a camera along on that trip.
