Your 15 Minutes Are Up, Please Exit Stage Left
By Julie Mosher
Sometimes there has to be an end. There comes a time when America just needs to send a double-strength nudge off the stage to Cindy Sheehan... Enough becomes truly enough. Well this is one of those moments.
I don't know about you, but I am sick of seeing and hearing about Cindy Sheehan. This woman is pathetic! There...I said it! Pathetic! It feels good too!
Sheehan, 48, likes the attention so much she wants to create the news by being the news. So when she was arrested before the president's State of the Union address and ejected from the House gallery for wearing a T-shirt with an anti-war message, she didn't care about the historical solemnest of the occasion, it was her fleeting 15 minutes of fame she was grabbing for.
Then Sheehan decides to run against California U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein in the Democratic primary, and then backs out. Guess what, who cares? First she says Feinstein had not done enough to oppose the war based on Sheehans standards. Then she says to her dwindling supporters that she really is much more "effective on the outside than on the inside." Do you feel those extra 15 minutes of "who cares fame" whipping right along?
I know what the Jesse Jacksons and the bleeding hearts must be thinking right now, but her 15 minutes of fame has gone way beyond the mourning of a son. She has graduated to disparaging the names and memories of every soldier who has gone off to battle for our country including her own son. In many ways she wants to out Jesse: Jesse Jackson....the man who has made a career of over extending his 15 minutes.
As a mom myself, I do feel for the woman on the level a mother who lost her son. Losing a child has to be one of the worst things that could happen on earth. What I do not understand is why she must make herself such a media whore. It has turned into the Cindy Sheehan show 24/7. The cause has been lost. Her trusty camp has even abandoned her. Where are Jackson and Sharpton now? Even they realize that the bloom has faded from the flower. The moment she voiced dissent over the "Lady with the amazing upside down legs," she was done! Nobody goes against Hillary! Not even the Lady from Camp Sheehan.
Cindy camps out in front of Bush's home, gets arrested in front of the White House and makes a spectacle of herself at the State of the Union as well. She writes a book that nobody cares about all to gain attention for herself, not the cause. Each time the crowds get smaller and smaller and smaller.
It's unbelievable how arrogant this woman is. It is also truly pitiful as well. Her son joined the Armed Forces because he believed in what he was doing. He loved his country and understood the dangers that could follow. He is a hero and should be remembered in that way.
Instead Cindy Sheehan puts on one of the most selfish displays of an ego trip I have ever seen. If I were her, I would not want my legacy to be known as the pesky little gnat that won't go away, but as a mom who loved her son.
Cindy, why not put your energy into helping support other families who have lost a son? Now THAT would be REAL news! So for all you military moms, dads, wives and loving family members out there who have lost a son or have one serving, this column salutes you! God Bless our troops and the USA.
And Cindy...about the Mardi Gras appearance...don't even think it...because America won't be!!

Cindy who?
Why?
I want her on every talk show and news conference - every time she opens her yap, another GOP voter is made.
bttt
YUP!
She probably meant "solemnity," which is actually a word.
So is Cindy Sheehan going to be King of Mardi Gras's Baccus Parade?
My son died and all I got was this lousy 15 minutes of fame......
Yet another article helping stretch her 15 minutes out to the utmost.
This is one of those times when we need to just ignore her and she'll go away. If not, hey, that works too by putting another cookoo clock on the mantel when there's no room for another.
She is using the death of her son, who she did not raise to recieve this attention. This woman should be asahmed of herself but as we have seen this is not the case.
This woman is only using the death of her son to place herself on a soapbox for the left. I respect her son who is dead alot more than I respect her. She is despicable and will answer to a higher power for her comments to the American public.
There is a special place in hell for people like herself.
I thought her 15 minutes were up quite a while ago. I had completely forgotten about her until this article reminded me again. Was anyone seriously paying any attention to her anymore? And what purpose does this article serve than to bring her closer to the forefront again, thereby undermining the article's own point?
Mardi Gras! NOOOOOO!
[having nightmares about throwing beads at her to get her to STOP showing herself]
That's the great thing about the Afterlife: finally, everything gets sorted out.
In the meantime, I'm not going to judge the rightness or wrongness of her efforts, just to respect (and celebrate) the fact that Americans are allowed to do what she does.
How very non-judgemental of you.
Yes, thank God that in America everyone has the right to speak their minds, even when they are opportunistic, self-aggrandizing fools. And we here at FreeRepublic have the right to call Cindy Sheehan an opportunistic, self-aggrandizing fool.
By the way, your comments could also have been made about George Lincoln Rockwell, or Gus Hall.
You are typical. You damn right that she is using her son as a soapbox. You must apperantly do not watch the news.
I first thought this article was about Paul Hackett!! ROTFLMAO!!
