Did anyone bother reading to the end of the Newsmax article, where it notes that President Bush's brother Neil spoke at the Jeddah Economic Forum in 2002? And what the article doesn't say at all is that the current president's father, George H.W. Bush, spoke at the forum in 2000. The noted jihadist Steve Forbes--yeah, the editor in chief of Forbes Magazine and former Republican candidate for president--is also one of this year's speakers. All that could be why Newsmax is the only "news" outlet making a big deal out of this.

Ahh, but you are only half clever my FRiend, in case you didn't notice, the other notable speakers mentioned in the article didn't stab America in the back by spouting off like Aljazeera Gore did. There is in reality, probably nothing terribly objectionable about speaking before the JEF, but as another poster pointed out, it isn't so much who paid the bills, but what the speaker SAID, and the Gorebot said plenty, all of it damaging to U.S. foreign policy, and all of it partisan.

I am happy to be half clever (or as my friends ususally call me, a half-wit). I agree with your point about what Gore says being the important thing. However, the thrust of the Newsmax article, as well as many of the comments on this thread, is that Gore spoke at an event paid for by Bin Laden's family, so he is a traitor. And any lack of attention paid to this by the MSM is clearly because they are traitors, too, etc., etc. Since George H.W. Bush and Neil Bush are among others who have spoken to this same conference, it does make a difference in what people should focus their energy on.
