"Current President Bush has his own connections to Carlyle and the bin Laden family. Carlyle appointed W. in 1990 to the board of its Caterair subsidiary, an airline catering company. W. stepped down from this board in 1994, the year he was elected governor. With W. as governor, Carlyle landed at least two business deals involving Texas government funds. In the same month that Bush was elected president, the Teacher Retirement System of Texas selected Carlyle to invest $100 million of its pension funds. In 1996, the quasi-public University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO) began awarding lucrative contracts to private firms to invest portions of UT’s $14 billion endowment. The Houston Chronicle reported that UTIMCO’s board (which is appointed by the governor’s handpicked UT System Regents) awarded many of these contracts to firms close to W.–including Carlyle. As of May 2001, Carlyle controlled more than $15 million of University of Texas public endowment funds. This includes $10.5 million that is commingled in the same Carlyle Partners II Fund where the bin Ladens parked their money......read more at this site.

The Gores and the Bushes are both financially vested in companies that sometimes work in our interest (United Defense, part of the Carlyle group) and Occidental Petroleum (far more Al than W). Methinks therefore that Al is indeed a Republican mole to keep the GOP in power...

Bill Clinton, OTOH, was a pure populist (philisophically much in the tradition of William Jennings Bryan) socialist Democrat, who even spoke at times of dismantling the Federal Resrve and going back to the Bretton Woods system (which would put him in the same sphere of thought as Lyndon LaRouche). Meaning he's a genuine article, but with Hildabeast and Ozone Al in control, wasn't much he could actually do. I think Vince Foster and Ron Brown's deaths and other such occurences were not so much suicides or plane crashes (or deliberate if such was the case) as it was to send a message to Bubba about who was in control.. Ms. Baird (his first choice for a.g.) was far more in line with Clinton's philosophy than was the Butcher of Waco (Reno).. Look at other parts of his cabinet... His first SecDef (can't remember his name) was a Scoop Jackson Democrat, and Mike Espey at Agriculture was much in the mold of Henry Wallace.
