A shame...you might have enjoyed it. It was Molino/Molina, I can't remember. A train derailed that included 18-19 LNG tankers cars. Several of them had ruptured and were burning...and somehow the my Coast Guard unit was called to respond.

The problem we had was the potential that the cars would blevy...heat up until they exploded. The dynamics of the tanks cars however are such that the car would split, the split would travel to both ends then split around the end seems...send two very large, very heavy Frisbees potentially into a community.

The decision was made to blow all the tank cars and avoid the blevy. We brought in a demolitions team that probably would have done it for nothing but the fun of it. The two people who set off the charge set up behind a large stack of tractor tires that had come off of a derailed flatbed car...a quarter mile away.

They were engulfed by the resulting fireball...I was a quarter mile behind them...but were saved by diving into the tires. I expected to find bodies, instead I found two very happy and excited men who wanted to do it again.

At the time there were some experts calling it the largest non-nuclear fireball on record. It was impressive.

yes a fire ball that does not harm you is very exciting and impressive. I have enjoyed a fireball or two of my own already and walked away chuckling at the new guys on the crew who got as close to the ground a human can....I wish I got to see it I definately would have gotten a kick out of the...the best fireball I did was in the dumpster at my parents house to show my brother how explosive MRE's really are...lol

They have actually improved in the time I spent using them....the dark brown bags were the nastiest things in the world then the bags got lighter in color and it actuallt found some flavor....still the explosive nature is still the same...

Oh I see why we let the Arabs run our ports! so we can lure them into a sense of false security and they allow nukes in cargo containers to pass through, or hijack loaded Liquid Natural Gas ships. And then we do a sting operation, everybody gets credit for saving the US from total destruction, FOX news anchors report nonstop for a week with talking heads and retired spec ops people, oh yeah and the dems say "Why weren't we told earlier?"

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I would not sell dirty diapers to those frickin ragheads, too many in the world claim peace and all of a sudden they can go rabid in a heartbeat. Its about time we got invaded by a superior species from outer space that annialtes most of the worlds population, time to start over I say.

possibly or let nut jobs like myself loose on them without any rules of engagement and see if they like their own game turned on them.

careful, some here will try to ban you the first day for daring to post info regarding the purchase of our ports by muslim terrorists. Why? It's simple, Bush supports the sale of our ports to muslim terrorists and to them anything Bush must be a good thing...even if he's selling our ports ( a national security risk no matter who is in charge of them) to musliim terrorists as he prosecutes the alleged war on terror it's still a good thing to them.

If this sale of our ports to terrorists with the approval of the Bush administration doesn't scare the hell out of Americans...

America has gone mad indeed.

If only we could get at the roots.....I am starting a campaign against ignorance whose with me....

Good luck. That's like trying to see to it that it never snows again. In a society with so many "leisure/pleasure/entertainment/amusement" distractions yet one in which "everyone's an expert" come election time, you've certainly got your work cut out for you.

I've tried before w/in my "circle of influence," only to result in far too much frustration than it's worth.

The fun part is after elections, ask those that voted lib why they voted for a particular candidate; Gov, Pres, Senator, etc. See what the answers are.

"Uhh, I just thought he looked better in the debate."

Yeah, but why?

"Well, he/she just sounded better."

What did they say to make you say that?

...it's a round-and-round exercise that you'll never get a good answer for. Hell, I can't stand Bush is a better answer than what most people can tell you. Anyway, talk about ignorance. A high percentage of voters think that the national elections are nothing more than a high school class president election.

Why don't we just put the nukes in place around the country ready to be detonated and tell Al Qaeda where they are. It would save a lot of time.

What can be done to stop this? If we let 6 major ports be controlled by a terrorist-sponsoring nation, we're not serious about the War on Terror.
