Biggest concern from the press seems to be that they were scooped by a local newspaper. White House / the Right's response should be that the Left and the Media are more upset about the timing of statement and not the well being of the victim.

I'm sure the VP is beside himself with regret and thanking god his friend is alright.

But of course the leftist press will overplay their hand, as usual.

Oh, well such is the state of our entertainment media, how could anyone run for office in this environment, unless of course they are Dems.

It's rumored the MSM again has a knot in their knickers for not being informed until almost noon today the President Bush passed gas shortly after dinner last night.

The White House should have called Helen Thomas at 3 am to give her the inside scoop, just for old times sake. Beauty sleep interruptus.

I'm sure they tried to call Helen Thomas first, she is always so polite and easy going. {sarc.off}

This shows just how petty and pointless these "journalists" really are.

They're upset he wasn't more seriously injured or killed.

private Armstrong Ranch in south Texas

What the hell is a private ranch? As opposed to what, a public ranch??

Another MSM attempt to show a Republican as an elitist. I'm a nobody and was on the ranch as far back as 1968.

Kathryn Armstrong, the owner of the ranch, informed a reporter she knew on the Corpus Christi Caller-Times staff, and they printed the story. The bloated egos in the White House Press Corps are livid that they couldn't swarm all over private property and generally make nuisances of themselves. Good for Ms. Armstrong.

I just heard that Cheney feels so bad about not letting the MSM know earlier that he's in process of giving them all invitations to go hunting with him.

Didn't President Clinton shot someone in the eye and we didn't find out about it until months later?

Oh wait, that was a different type of load.

Its funny watching the MSM these days. They are a group of no nothings that just stand around and shout "SCANDAL, SCANDAL!!!!!" Everything is a scandal to these people. Katrina, nope that bombed. Iraq is Vietnam, nope that bombed. Plamegate, nope that bombed. So called "Domestic Surveillance" nope that is bombing. Hey, I know Cheney involved in a hunting accident, an accident, Bush knew, SCANDAL, THIS IS IT, THIS IS THE BIG ONE!!!! Bush is going down!!! He is taking heat from this one!!! Nevermind WE, the MSM, are the only one's giving him heat, he is taking heat!!!

That the MSM has reached the point where they are finding scandal in an accident is ridiculous and childish. What is next, yelling SCANDAL over conflicting reports as to what the President had for breakfast? Will the next cry of SCANDAL be the revelation that the White House doesn't use recycled paper for its toilet tissue or that an aide failed to wash his hands after using the bathroom during a state dinner? Sheesh.

On another completly unrelated topic, I am unable to figure out why he MSM has become a parody of itself, can anyone help me?

Yes. Well said. Depriving MSNBCBSABCNBC of millions of dollars of ad revenue on a slow news weekend (sans Olympics). Exactly.

Furthermore, the MSM shows an absurd lack of comprehension regarding Texas quail hunting or hunting/conservation of any kind.

I wonder why the press barely mentioned that in 2001, Hillary's caravan (with her in the car) hit and seriously injured a policeman. And didn't stop.
