If a car was built with the same seat and leg space as is available in the cheap seat section of airplanes that manufacturer wouldnt sell a dozen of them.
They try to jam as many people in their flying boxes as they can and could care less about comfort. Make the damned seats a little bigger and a heavy p[erson wouldnt need two seats.
As for discrimination because of race that part is BS and she knows it, but what the hell is the sense of being black if you dont get to play the card.

That sounds like a good idea, but the airline I normally fly has only Boeing 737-700s, which have two rows of 3 seats. To make the seats any wider would mean they would have to only have 2 seats to a side, which if they did it for every seat (one class only on these planes) would mean only 2/3 of the capacity per flight.
But you're right. Sitting in those seats is like spending 4 hours sitting in the back seat of my old Nissan Sentra, behind me in the driver's seat. Except that you'd stll have more room side to side.
