He said the pellets would not be removed, but added it is normal to closely observe a patient with multiple gunshot wounds.

They will work themselves out eventually.

The owner of the property said that Whittington was heading out to join up with the hunting party (so wasn't "with" the hunting party). She also said he was hit from a range of about 30 yards. In tall grass and brush that's quite a ways to be seen and heard.

Cheney screwed up. No arguing around it.

I am surprised, though, that his Secret Service guys didn't warn him. I would think they would keep track of where other hunters with guns were

Having listened to the MSM go off about this all day, I do have one question that I don't believe has been addressed as yet. I'm not a hunter, yet understand that accidents can and do occur, and that the gentleman who was shot violated some basic rules as to his position. However, that explanation would be valid if a group of friends was out hunting. Cheney is the VP..and one assumes, and hopes, that he was accompanied in the field by the usual security detail. It seems therefore a litle peculiar that the individual was able to get out of position by himself, without it NOT be noted by any of the security detail. I understand that he had a weapon with him, and while having undergone rigid screening, I don't think it is normal practice to have an armed individual proximate to the VP without someone noting his position..Is this somehow a breakdown in USSS procedures? Comments?
