Insider's Book Should Blow Lid Off WMD Debate
The Post Chronicle ^ | 2/13/06 | Doug Patton

On Sunday morning, February 12, 2006, in a church in Bellevue, Nebraska, I couldn't escape the feeling that I was a witness to history. There, at the sparsely attended 8:30 service, stood Gen. Georges Sada, a retired Iraqi general from Saddam Hussein's air force. As he shared his personal testimony, I found myself wondering how long the so-called mainstream media could ignore the message he was imparting.

Sada is a member of the board of directors of World Compassion, headed by Dr. Terry Law, an Oklahoma minister who accompanied the general on Sunday morning. The reasons for Sada's presence in the church were two-fold: to profess his own Christian faith and to let Americans know that liberating Iraq was the just and right thing to do.

Gen. Sada has just published a book entitled "Saddam's Secrets." In it, he describes his experiences as an Iraqi Air Force general and Saddam advisor who frequently told the Iraqi dictator the truth when others would not, and how God protected him when he did so. He writes about saving captured coalition pilots from certain death at the hands of one of Saddam's bloodthirsty sons, Qusay, who wanted to kill them. He tells of how he convinced Saddam that attacking Israel with chemical weapons at the time of the first Gulf War was folly that would bring nuclear holocaust to the Middle East.

The MSM will never interview this guy. If Katie Couric interviewed him, it would blow the lid off of the "No WMDs" lie they've been spewing for 4 years.

Who watches the MSM evening news programs anymore, anyway? They are all the same and repeat the same liberal talking points.

Did one MSM outlet cover John Stossel's "20/20" special, 'Stupid in America?' The whole thing was so damning.

Call me skeptical, but I am a bit suspicious of anyone who now claims to be a part of Saddam's "inner circle", claiming to be a Christian, and can tell us all about the WMDs.

Is he selling a book?

Sorry to be that way, but it smells a bit fishy to me.

If he had written a book about how Saddam never had WMDs he would be all over the Today show for a solid week.

Just found this great blog posting regarding General Sada. He was a Christian who put his life on the line several times by opposing Saddam to his face (which should bolster his credibility). [click here]

General Sada told us some interesting stories. One story concerned orders he received, when he was the Air Vice Marshall, from Saddam Hussein to equip 96 supersonic fighters-I understand they were Russian aircraft-with chemical bombs which would be dropped on the main population centres of Israel. http://www.cdp.org.au/fed/mr/051201f.asp Sada shared another story with us, of which I have had confirmation from a former American Air Force Colonel, David Eberly. In January 1991 Colonel Eberly and some other coalition pilots were shot down over Iraq and captured. They were made prisoners of war. Saddam Hussein gave the order that all the pilots were to be executed as they were classified as criminals of war. Because Sada was head of an air force department he was put in charge of the prisoners of war. He received the order that they were to be executed but disobeyed it. As a consequence, Saddam Hussein threw him into prison, where he suffered greatly. The pilots whose lives were saved by Sada's stand have expressed their appreciation for his bravery. Sada was ordered to join Saddam Hussein's Ba'ath Party in 1986. He refused to do so and was thus forced to retire. The key fact in this man's life is that he is a Christian. I was amazed that a Christian could hold such a high position in the Iraqi regime. But his ability to fly aircraft and to organise the air force for Saddam Hussein made him invaluable. Shortly after Sada was forced out of the air force Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and Sada was the first man he called back into service. He was restored to his former position and put in charge of the air force. Sada was obviously a loyal citizen of Iraq but because he would not execute the American prisoners he was thrown into prison. Sada is a remarkable man. I understand that he will be visiting Parliament House tomorrow. I am not involved in Sada's visit-I have only just learned of it-but I urge honourable members to take the opportunity to meet this remarkable Christian, who showed amazing courage and faith by putting his life at risk to protect the American pilots."

Timing Was Everything

http://mensnewsdaily.com/blog/parks/2006/01/got-brains.html

The left uses, in their reasoning to attack President Bush, the Downing Street Memo. I, in turn, will cite the Nayuf Letters. What are the Nayuf letters, you may ask? Good question, as the mainstream media were/are ignorant as to their existence or overlooking them because had they acknowledged them when they were written, they would have blown John Kerry's presidential campaign tirades out of the water.

In a January 2004 letter to the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf," Syrian journalist Nizar Nayuf, who defected from Syria to Western Europe, said that he knows the three sites where Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction are kept.

In one letter, Nayuf wrote:

"We received confirmations that the Iraqi weapons, which were moved to Syria by the help of General Zoul-Himla Chalich, are now hidden in three places inside Syria:

First place: a tunnel dug in the mountain close to the Al-Baïdah village, which is roughly two kilometers from Misyaf village. This place is under the 489 Safety cipher Documents' office control.

Second place: the factory of the Air Armed Forces in the village of Tal Sinan, between the town of Hama and Salamiyyah. This factory is under the Air Force control.

Third place: the location of Shinsar, 40 kilometers south of Homs, two kilometers east of the Homs - Damascus road. There are underground tunnels there, controlled by Brigade 661 of the armed air Forces. It is a Brigade of air Patrol. The tunnels are several tens of meters deep.

The weapons were transported in large wooden cases and barrels, under the supervision of the General Zoul-Himla Chalich and the son of his brother Assef, who works at Al-Bachaer company.

The company is owned by the Assad family and has offices in Beirut, Damascus and Baghdad.

This company also undertook the illegal Iraqi oil importation in Syria, and supplied weapons to Saddam. I will try to send you all the new information as I get.

Take care and be safe."

And there was a second letter...

"I have sent you another chart of the positions which tells where the weapons which were sent from Iraq into Syria, are hidden. Because the preceding chart that I sent you earlier is not clear.

Until now, the authorities in Syria did not worry of what was being published by the Dutch television news about this subject.

New information: The weapons were evacuated by the means of ambulances. Mohammed Mansoura also took part in the operation.

There are other serious, detailed pieces of information concerning the money of Saddam being moved into Syria and into Lebanon and those who took part in moving it - Syrians and Lebanese. Also there are more details about the assassination of the General Moustapha Tajer which took place last summer.

Take care of yourself."

Using liberal rationale, it's not the existence of evidence, but the seriousness of the charge here. If WMD are in Syria, and we know they were moved during the ramp-up to the war, then could one squeeze in the possibility that George W. Bush may have been right about Saddam? Maybe all the domestic and international intelligence that said Hussein had WMD were right all along?

Maybe the mainstream media decided to ignore award-winning journalist Nayuf, because to pursue his claims may damage the Kerry campaign, and we couldn't have that, right?

A local San Diego talk radio guy, Mark Larson, interviewed the General and talked about his book. Mark is a professed Christian, and will discuss the issue on his program. After reading the book, Mark discovered why the old media won't help promote it:

THE GENERAL IS A CHRISTIAN. Evidently, he talks a lot about his being a Christian in the book. I suspose if he was a Muslim - the old media would be more interested.

The obvious reason the old media is ignoring the book is because it shows the old media was wrong about there being NO WMD. There was WMD - it just wasn't in Iraq anymore.

It smells fishy because it is fishy.

Nevertheless, there are many here who will say "SEE! We told you it was there all along! The MSM is lying!" - as if this guy saying it simply makes it true.

Of course, there were Iraqis before the war telling us things we now know weren't true.

In a nutshell, this guy is asking us to believe (a) that a disobedient officer who had been jailed by Saddam was in a position to know more about what happened in 2003 than all of our other information sources combined or (b) we already know the WMD are in Syria but have chosen to keep it hush-hush.

Neither of these things is credible, so I'll have a hard time finding this guy to be credible.
