You can see on the map the large government area called The Savannah River Site, known mostly for disposal of radioactive wastes.
It is actually in my Barnwell County, providing great tax money to keep us healthy.
(No - drinking our local water does not make us glow green like aliens!!
It actually is *The Best* tasting city water I have ever had.)
If you look above it on a map of SC, you can see Aiken, and I assume a new plant that opened today is located on that side of it.

It is a one of a kind, HYDROGEN RESEARCH PLANT,
as in a new fuel to replace gasoline!!
Also being pursued is a biodiesel (with soy) fuel.
Wonder when the President will speak of this as progress in finding alternative fuels??
In going to Aiken for medical treatments, on the way in there is a new deluxe three story Suites & Inn, not yet occupied, and we could not fathom the need for it - - unless something BIG was brewing!
Now I can see it as a place to accommodate a stream of government types/legislators/scientists/etc. coming down/back and forth in connection with it.

That does sound interesting Sistah. Lots of stuff like that going on. Here, very close by, they are going to build two new coal fired power plants. We already have three. They are also opening up a coal mine that will process oil from coal. I think it won't be too long before we can kiss the Saudis goodbye.
