they hyped this I think, did they measure in a snow drift?

I don't think so. They gave some other local readings on the 6 O'Clock News. LaGuardia got over 25 inches. Some Westchester, Rockland and Connecticut suburbs got 18 inches to 2 feet. Schools are already closed tomorrow in many places - but not in New York City - they haven't made a decision yet.

apparently, there was some kind of microburst in manhattan just east into queens that sent the accumulations numbers there off the charts. western long island numbers are only coming in around 12-15.
