My son had a close encounter with a VBIED (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device)not too long ago. The Marines were not injured but it hit a civilian vehicle. The townspeople were not amused and promptly led the Marines to another fully rigged vehicle and a good sized cache of "parts".
Nary a mention on the news anywhere but that's ok. They are getting the job done and the Iraqis are working right along with them to secure their families, homes and livelihoods.

The detainee and roadside bomb were turned over to authorities for further disposition.
Why don't we do both at once? Strap the bombs to the terrorist and detonate. When word gets out that they will receive this rather than a comfy cell and 3 meals a day they'll get a lot fewer volunteers.
