One thing that should not be forgotten in the midst of this - Jyllands-Posten called for, and presumably PAID illustrators to create the original anti-Islamic cartoons.

It's intention was specifically to offend.

While I think this article is dead-on correct about the hypocrisy in the media, I think that the cause is not only fear but a dose of hatred of Western civilization. The multiculturalists are willing to excuse the human sacrifices of the Aztecs as being "their way" but they are unable to excuse the destruction of Aztecs by the Spaniards on the grounds that it was the Spaniards way. The only pattern one can find here is that if it's Western or Christian, it's wrong because that, ultimately, is where the ethics of the multicultural left has wound up.

Catholics take a bum wrap because of the past.

I say that as one of Huguenot ancestry. Catholics threw my ancestors from bell towers because they did not want to follow Catholic traditions. The French and all the liberals are always quick to point this out.

I see Catholics as my brothers now. All is forgiven. All Christians must unite to fight this fascist Islamic threat.

Freedom of the press means the GOVERNMENT can't inhibit free speech. Does that mean citizens aren't allowed to pummel the bully for bad behavior?
