Is there a legitimate science experiment for powdered sugar? I teach primarily language arts and history, so this is an honest question, not being cynical.

We used both sugar and salt in crystalization experiemtns. The sugar was also partly as a treat, making rock candy.

Powdered sugar? Isn't that a little expensive, when plain old sugar will do the job?
