I often see people on other boards ask about the same question which boils down to "what's the big deal with movies showing soldiers in bad light? It's not like people don't know it's just a movie." Wrong. Many people out there have got their only exposure to military life from the movies. Some believe that even if the movie is only half true, it's an accurate representation of our military. They don't realize that outside of all of the film's actors wearing uniforms, any similarity with reality ends there.

Just to clarify that I didn't mean all war movies were total hokum, but some are just out there. It seems that as a group, the more recent ones are the most far from reality.
