Sex predators would be tracked for 40 years

Convicted sex predators in Illinois would have to wear a tracking device for 40 years after being released from prison under a bill advanced Wednesday by House committee.

Sponsored by Rep. Jim Watson, R-Jacksonville, the proposal would enable the Department of Corrections to pinpoint at all times the locations of the state's most violent or dangerous sex offenders.

"There is no worse crime than what some of these individuals do to society," Watson told the House Criminal Law Committee. Its members voted unanimously to advance the bill to the full House.

Current law enables the state to monitor paroled sexual predators from a minimum of three years up to the rest of their lives, depending on the recommendations of a Department of Corrections review board.

I would prefer that these monsters never be let out, but this is at least a start.

I agree. I think if they are dangerous enough to require wearing a tracking device they don't belong in society.

"There is no worse crime than what some of these individuals do to society,"

Not to diminish what he says, but the same might be said for politicians who violate the trust their constituents bestow on them.

A certain predator in the WH comes to mind as one example.

There are some states that do "civil incarcerations" of violent offenders after they've served their time. They walk out the prison door and are immediately taken into custody again.

MORAL ABSOLUTES and HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA PING.

DISCUSSION ABOUT:

Sex predators would be tracked for 40 years

I would prefer that these monsters would either be executed or imprisoned for life, but without that, at least this way they can be tracked.

That 6 year old who got branded 'sexual predator' or some such the other day for pulling a classmate's pigtails (or some such) would carry a tracking device until he's 47. Good! (Go ahead, argue with my arithmetic, but you can't argue with the contention that this country is sex crazy, puritan and some such. Oh yes, and I did undego compulsory sexual harassment training at my workplace so I know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about (to quote the junior Senator from New York)?))

Don't put too much faith in devices that rely on receiving a code and transmitting back a code that can be read as a location.
They can be defeated by a prototype device that receives the code and the transmitted response.
The real device can be blanked by tin foil and the prototype device set to transmit the correct fake response.

I saw that pic a few times and always assumed it was a photoshop deal. Now after looking at it more closely and considering that the serial rapist is out of office and can`t make his opponents "disappear" I`m not too sure if it is a fake. In all honesty though, I find it pretty disturbing that a 18 year old guy who has consensual sex with a 17 year old girl can have a record as a "sex offender", but a politician who has had umpteen women come forth who say they were raped or sexually attacked by that politician can be so ignored.

Just what is considered a "Convicted sex predator" in Missouri?

A woman who cruises bars searching for sex on a nightly basis?
Date "Rape"?

But I also hope that there is NO doubt that the guy is guilty. Too many wives accuse husbands of this in divorces and custody battles, as happened to my brother. My EX-s-i-l admitted to me later that she lied about the accusations. grrrrrr.
The fact that this can be used as a *weapon* to ruin somebody's life really concerns me. I agree that if the guy is guilty, he should rot and then burn, but I'd hate to see an innocent party stuck with this the rest of his life just out of vengence or retaliation.
As a matter of fact, I think that if the guy is guilty beyond the shadow of a doubt, his genes should be removed from the gene pool.
